November 2026
4 Nov 26
Session
Yazhini has completed so much in the writing homework that we've had to cut her points down in her summary to just three. She was very active about participating today. · Julia
2 Nov 26
Session
Yazhini's participation was consistent today. She hasn't finished her reading homework, though. · Julia
October 2026
28 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini's situation is the exact opposite of everyone else's. She is completing and turning in her writing homework, but isn't keeping up with her reading. I discussed it with her at the beginning of class today. · Julia
26 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini did well today. She was the only one on time, so we started with her reading over the story she worked on a few classes ago. I think she had the most fun finding evidence for the chart. · Julia
21 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini was engaged today, but turned her camera off and logged out of class at some point during the session. · Julia
19 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini was engaged today. She was the only person who completed a second story for homework, and she was very eager to share it, but we didn't get to it today. · Julia
14 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini was very engaged today and clearly put tons of effort into her story. It was very long and took up quite a bit of class time. I will monitor the length of her writing more closely in the future, but for this assignment, I'm very excited that she was so enthusiastic about writing. · Julia
12 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini participated well again today. She also turned in her completed story in the whatsapp group. It was extensive. She got similar feedback to Charvik on capitalization. · Julia
7 Oct 26
Session
In class, Yazhini picked an interesting metaphor from the excerpt ("winter was ugly"). She didn't quite stick the landing while explaining its hidden meaning, but it was distinct because no one else chose that quote. I tried to help her use simpler terms to get the same point across. · Julia
5 Oct 26
Session
Yazhini was on fire today! I usually have to call on her a lot because she's quieter, but by the middle of class, she was raising her hand often. A lot of her responses felt different from the expected responses, but she was able to back her logic up with context from the story. · Julia
September 2026
28 Sep 26
Session
Yazhini needed help generating ideas during writing, but I think she is getting a little better at expressing herself when I prompt her. She seems more comfortable thinking through my follow-up questions. · Julia
23 Sep 26
Session
Yazhini is another student who started far ahead in her writing because after the first session, she wrote her whole story. I explained that this would be her first draft, and we would add more in a new, detailed draft over the next couple of sessions. We discussed actions that would show character traits, but I wasn't sure that she was writing them. · Julia
21 Sep 26
Session
Yazhini's homework would have made for a very strong outline, which she could have edited quickly as we moved through the sessions, but instead, she completed a finished version of the story. She started well today with rewriting and adding opening details, so I think that bodes well for the next few sessions when she's changing the end of her outline. · Julia
16 Sep 26
Session
When it came to writing time, Yazhini needed help formulating ideas to write about. She settled on a funny character, but we didn't have enough time for her to finish the story map. Depending on how she completes her homework, I may need to support her a bit more. · Julia
14 Sep 26
Session
Yazhini asked me to repeat words the most consistently throughout the spelling test. She finished the grammar assessment a little later in the class and scored 63%. · Julia
9 Sep 26
Session
She finished with 16 questions correct out of 24, or 67%. She finished in the latter half of the class but responded well to timing warnings. · Julia

focussed on the assessment. took long pauses in between while attempting the assessment. · Anusha

Session
I think Yazhini may have had tech problems at the beginning of the class because she spent a minute or two with her camera off. After the second time, her camera remained on for the rest of the class. I tried to call on her often, but I feel she became comfortable during the writing part of class. I prompted her with a lot of options during the beginning and middle, but she wrote on her own by the conclusion. · Julia
