Saanvi has a very good understanding of today's lesson. She seems to have a good grasp on paragraph styles and identifying clue words. She was quite engaged and enthusiastic during the paragraph activity. She told me she finished reading the entire book. · Hannah

Saanvi has a very good understanding of today's lesson. She did very well identifying true, but, and evidence sentences. She also did quite well on the skills activity. The only slight problem I observed was that it sounded like she directly copied words from a website to incorporate into her body paragraph. Despite that it seems she has a good understanding on how to write body paragraphs. She got a 73% on wayground. · Hannah

I was not able to accurately gauge Saanvi's understanding of today's lesson because she was not very engaged/participating in discussion. She was able to give me some good points about the reading she did for homework and a brief summary. For most of the class after that she had her head tilted away from the screen and it appeared as if she was doing something else. When I tried to bring her back into the conversation by asking her discussion questions, she was not able to give me clear answers. She seems to have a good understanding of the reading but appeared to be a bit distracted today. · Hannah

Saanvi demonstrates a very good understanding of today's lesson. She did very well when pulling evidence from the text to back up her answers. She did especially well when inferring the safety status of other shipyards compared to the Titanic's shipyard. She did well with progressive tenses and volunteered to give me examples of each tense type to further clarify her understanding of the subject. She was very engaged and participated often! · Hannah

Saanvi did very well today! She shared a sentence that she used the word "plummeted" in and it was very detailed, enough to the point where the reader could infer its meaning. She gave a good rating of the book and had meaningful critiques about the story's plot. She does very well with writing dialogue in her story. She was actively listening and gave respectful feedback for all of her peers! · Hannah

Saanvi seems to struggle a bit with identifying themes/lessons of the story. When students shared what they thought the theme/lesson was, Saanvi repeated what Harsith said or said "my answer is what Harsith said". I am not sure if Saanvi has a conceptual gap, or if she isn't familiar enough with the story (she told me she only read up until chapter 29). She wasn't able to fully participate in the writing activity because her rough draft was only partially completed. She seems to have a good understanding of grammar rules. · Hannah

Saanvi was able to point out a good example from the book where the narrator speaks to the reader. She gave a good definition of the vocab word "inoperative" by using clues from the root word. She was unable to do the writing activity because she did not have or remember her story from previous classes. She claimed not to remember the characters names in her story, so I told her to replace it with a different name and try her best to follow. When it came to group sharing time, she told me she hadn't written anything. She did good on understanding suffixes. · Hannah

Saanvi did okay today. She told me at the beginning of class she had only read until chapter 6 (she should have read up to chapter 13 by now). When the other students were forming opinions about the character in the story through evidence, she was not able to give me an answer nor evidence to back it up.
