Session
Magizhan did not have his book in class today, so it made it hard for him to have a full understanding of the discussion during reading, since we referred to multiple spots in the book. · Julia
2 Nov 26
Session
He struggled a bit during reading, but when Magizahn stepped out Mahateja had my full attention, so we went over everything carefully. He needed a lot of guidance with writing while we were reviewing the different parts of paragraph two. · Julia

Magizhan wasn't engaged at all today. I think that he was working on something on a separate monitor, but it took being called on several times before his attention came back to class. · Julia

Session
I checked in with Magizhan often today because she seemed like he was working on something else during class. · Julia

Magizhan did well citing evidence today. · Julia
14 Oct 26
Session
Magizhan was distracted today. His story was great, and it had beautiful sensory details, but I had to remind him consistently what we were talking about when we were going over vocabulary because he kept checking out. · Julia

Session
Magizhan came to class with the book finished, but his writing homework was only partially done. He was comfortable finding evidence on his own, but he needed a bit of prompting when thinking about the theme. He was very clear about what literally happened at the end of the story, but finding the theme required a bit of stretching. · Julia
7 Oct 26
Session
Magizhan has stopped keeping up with the reading, and it has halted his progress in discussions. He lost some of the writing he was working on in the last class, so we closed out writing with him by working on what he said he was writing about on Monday. · Julia

Session
Despite doing a lot of deep thinking during the metaphor discussion while we were in the reading section of class, Magizhan spent a lot of class time messing around. · Julia

Magizhan was the quickest to pick up what the fox was saying during chapter 15, after some support, but it still took a while. He came up with strong sensory sentences while we were writing. · Julia

Session
I think the technical issues we've been having in the earlier parts of class make it easier for Magizhan to disengage. He was quick to find his evidence and eager to share today, but the rest of the class weren't as quick, and he had to wait. Magizhan was the most up to date on the reading. · Julia
21 Sep 26
Session
Magizhan took more sentences than everyone else to get to the end of his opening, but we spent time talking about making it clear who was being separated and what they were doing when it happened. · Julia
16 Sep 26
Session
Perspective and point of view mixed Magizhan up a lot this class, but when we reviewed what we learned, we clarified that together, and he used textual evidence to support the perspective of the fox. · Julia
14 Sep 26
Session
He was talkative today. I had to remind him and Mahateja to both stay muted during spelling. He was also excited to share what he learned in school about the Latin roots of words. I stopped him quickly in case he said anything that might've been on the test. He finished quickly with 84%. We talked about things that would be in his dream room from the quiet time prompts. · Julia
9 Sep 26
Session
He finished with 17.5 questions correct out of 22, or 80%. He finished first, so I had him answer a few questions in the chat. He participated in the discussion the least. · Julia

I think Magizhan was on a different website during some of the discussion portion of the class, but during writing I was better able to monitor him. He changed his opinion from waiting being harmful to waiting being helpful while writing. His switch in opinion prompted interesting ideas, but he was writing very simple sentences. I encouraged him to come up with detailed examples, and he was working on that before we finished writing. · Julia
